Island Verse Of Mr. Dunmore Townes: Islands

A few years ago, while visiting  Saint James, I bumped into a song and verse writer named Dunmore Townes. Most mornings, Mr Townes drops by to say hello to me on the porch, eat an Arthur's donut or two, and share his latest musing.

We thought it would be a nice Easter gesture to share three of his pieces with you; here is the first:

Islands

Two islands,
once attached,

seen from above,
perfect match.

Millenium come,
millenium go,

shake it all up,
become just so.

Share a harbour,
share a bay,

deep coral channel
between, half way.

Captains may,
captains might,

but only Guide Pilot
knows way that's right.

My island here,
your island yonder.

Love's the truest
depth finder.
